The Association Accountant, Senior is responsible for the overall accounting and financial reporting functions for various association self-insured accounts.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for the preparation of journal entries, posting to the general ledger and preparation of financial statements on a monthly basis for association programs that CCMSI is responsible for accounting functions. 
  • Monitors all bank accounts, processes transfers, analyzes investments, and reviews cash flow requirements. 
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining financial data, accounting control sheets, etc. for association accounts, including the use of SAGE100, SAM system, and other software that would enhance the performance of the association accounting function. 
  • Prepares special financial reports or analysis, as requested by clients. 
  • Responsible for the cash receipts and disbursements functions for association accounts. 
  • Responsible for the collection procedures which includes processing late charges, delinquency, and cancellation notices for past due association account members. 
  • Responsible for the preparation of invoices for association accounts, as needed.
  •  Maintain contributions receivable sub-ledgers. 
  • Completion of monthly accounting checklists/internal control procedures. 
  • Prepares and complies with outside audits including CPA and DOI audits. 
  • Attend association board meetings and make financial presentations, as needed. 
  • Calculate and pay brokers, when applicable, on behalf of the association accounts. 
  • Reliable, predictable attendance within client service hours for the performance of this position. 
  • Responsive to internal and external client needs. 
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and/or in writing both internally and externally. 
  • Ability to get along with others. 
  • Ability to travel to the various CCMSI Offices. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience                                                                    

Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance required with three years business experience. 

MBA or CPA or progressing toward CPA or Insurance/Accounting designation is beneficial.

 

Computer Skills                                                               

Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office products to include:  Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook.
