Location: Maitland, FL
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (In-office daily for initial training up to 6 months, then hybrid with in-office presence every other Wednesday)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Salary Range: $95,000 - $100,000

Position Overview:

 

The Subrogation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the investigation, adjustment, and recovery of subrogation claims across multiple accounts within the Florida jurisdiction, covering various industries. This role ensures compliance with corporate claim standards, client-specific instructions, and applicable laws. The supervisor will lead a team of 6-8 direct reports, providing guidance, training, and support while maintaining high-quality claim handling practices. This position reports to Claims Management and requires an adjuster's license.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the investigation, adjustment, and recovery activities of subrogation claims to ensure compliance with industry standards and corporate policies.

  • Assign claims and oversee their handling to ensure timely and effective resolution.

  • Investigate, evaluate, and adjust subrogation claims in accordance with Florida regulations.

  • Establish and oversee reserves for designated claims within authority levels.

  • Review and approve medical, legal, damage estimates, and invoices to determine reasonableness and relation to claims.

  • Negotiate disputed bills and invoices for resolution.

  • Authorize and process claim payments utilizing industry-standard payment procedures.

  • Directly handle complex and litigated subrogation claims.

  • Provide training and development opportunities to claim staff.

  • Maintain diary system to ensure timely follow-up on claim activities.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate handling standards and special client instructions.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years handling subrogation claims, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role preferred.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of subrogation recovery processes for both Workers’ Compensation and Liability claims.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively negotiate settlements.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making skills to assess claim value and recovery potential.

  • Organization: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a team in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Independence: Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Adjusters license is required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications such as AIC, CPCU, or ARM is preferred but not required.

Technical Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software.
