Workers' Compensation Claim Consultant - IL Jurisdiction
Location: Chicago, IL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (May be flexible)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid after initial training (up to 6 months); in-office one day per week. Hybrid status is contingent on performance and attendance.
Salary Range: $65,000–$80,000

Join CCMSI, a leading Third-Party Administrator, as a Workers' Compensation Claim Consultant in Chicago, IL. In this role, you will manage a multiple-account desk within diverse industries, including public entities and manufacturing, with a focus on Illinois jurisdiction only. Your responsibilities will include investigating, evaluating, and adjusting workers' compensation claims while providing outstanding service to our clients. Investigate, evaluate, and adjust workers' compensation claims in compliance with corporate standards and Illinois state laws.
Establish and recommend reserves within designated authority levels.
Review and approve medical, legal, and damage-related invoices.
Negotiate settlements in alignment with client instructions and state regulations.
Maintain a personal diary of claim activity and prepare comprehensive status reports.
Compute disability rates and ensure compliance with Illinois jurisdictional laws.
Effectively communicate with clients, claimants, and vendors throughout the claims process.
Participate in claim reviews, training sessions, mediations, or hearings as needed.
Required:
5+ years of Illinois workers' compensation claims experience.
Strong writing, math, and communication skills.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent phone and interpersonal skills.
Your performance will be evaluated through regular audits and supervisor reviews. Hybrid work privileges are subject to performance and attendance standards.
