Work Arrangement: Hybrid (in-office presence based on appointments and meetings)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM MT
Salary: $80,000 annually

About the Role

We’re seeking a Nurse Case Manager to join our growing Albuquerque team. In this role, you’ll manage workers’ compensation files with a focus on providing high-quality, cost-effective medical care that leads to safe and timely return to work. You’ll collaborate with injured workers, providers, employers, and internal claim teams to ensure treatment aligns with established recovery goals.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Perform comprehensive case management for assigned workers’ compensation claims

  • Assess claimants’ medical status, work capacity, and treatment needs

  • Develop and document action plans to achieve Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI)

  • Collaborate with treating providers, claim adjusters, employers, and—when applicable—attorneys

  • Coordinate and monitor medical treatment; recommend IMEs, second opinions, and site evaluations as appropriate

  • Evaluate treatment plans for necessity and appropriateness

  • Document all file activity clearly and in alignment with CCMSI and jurisdictional standards

  • Report measurable cost savings and outcomes

  • Participate in problem-solving discussions to support efficient claim resolution

  • Provide on-site or virtual support at medical appointments, as needed

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Active RN license

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

  • Excellent documentation, planning, and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage changing priorities in a professional, compassionate manner

  • Reliable attendance and commitment to client service

Preferred:

  • BSN and/or 3–5 years of clinical experience in trauma, rehab, ortho, occupational medicine, or workers’ comp

  • Prior case management experience

  • Working knowledge of medical necessity, MMI, RTW planning, and care coordination

  • Familiarity with utilization review, IME processes, and WC best practices

Performance Metrics

  • Cost savings and documented outcomes

  • Timely coordination and resolution of claims

  • Successful achievement of MMI and RTW

  • Compliance with documentation and quality standards

Team & Travel

  • Join a dedicated team of 4 nurse case managers

  • Occasional travel to medical appointments may be required
