Location: Reno, NV – Hybrid
Work Arrangement: Hybrid after training (2–3 in-office days per week)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Hourly Rate: $22.00–$25.00/hour
Jurisdiction: Nevada (NV) only
License/Certification Required: NV Adjuster’s License required, or ability to obtain
Client Type: Single dedicated Workers’ Compensation client
Performance Metrics: Best practice standards – timely claim decisions, up-to-date documentation, payments, diaries, and emails
Growth Potential: Yes – potential advancement to Lost Time Adjuster after full training

Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Only Claim Representative to handle workers’ compensation claims for a single, dedicated client in the Nevada jurisdiction. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized professional with strong multitasking skills. You’ll work in a hybrid environment (in-office 2–3 days/week after training) and will be supported by a knowledgeable team and clear performance standards.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow into a future Lost Time Adjuster role with full training and support provided.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage medical-only workers’ compensation claims according to Nevada regulations and corporate best practices

  • Establish and monitor claim reserves within authority levels under supervision

  • Review and process medical invoices, negotiate disputed bills when needed

  • Coordinate medical treatment and communicate with providers

  • Summarize and organize medical records, correspondence, and claim notes

  • Close claim files appropriately and assist with re-filing or records retrieval as needed

  • Provide technical and administrative support to claim staff and client service teams

  • Ensure compliance with corporate standards and client-specific instructions

  • Maintain accuracy and timeliness of all documentation, diaries, and communications

  • Participate in ongoing training and knowledge development opportunities

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate degree or at least 2 years of related business or administrative experience

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Reliable and professional communication skills

  • NV Adjuster’s License or ability to obtain within required timeframe

  • Reliable attendance within scheduled client service hours

Nice to Have:

  • Background in medical terminology or healthcare-related claims

  • Experience working in a claims, legal, or insurance setting

Performance Metrics

  • Compliance with best practice standards

  • Timely claim decisions and documentation

  • Accuracy of file notes, payments, and diary entries

  • Responsiveness to internal and external communications

  • Readiness for growth into Lost Time Adjuster role
