Position Title: Claim Clerk
Location: Lisle, IL (Hybrid – In-Office 2nd & 4th Thursdays)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (37.5 hours/week)
Compensation: $20/hour
Work Arrangement: Hybrid after training (no remote-only option)

Illinois Public Risk Fund has a dedicated CCMSI claims team with a staff of 21 and their own dedicated office space. This team works in office twice a month.

As a Claim Clerk, you'll support our claims team by performing essential clerical tasks that help keep our operations running smoothly. You’ll set up new claims, manage incoming documents, follow up on billing, and provide general office support. After initial in-office training, this position transitions to a hybrid schedule, requiring on-site work twice a month (2nd and 4th Thursdays). Accuracy and timeliness are key—and there’s plenty of opportunity for growth if you're ready to learn.
Set up new claim files and complete required data entry
File incoming claim-related documents, mail, and bills
Follow up on outstanding medical bills and billing inquiries
Provide phone support and return provider calls as directed
Summarize correspondence and documentation into claim notes
Retrieve and re-file physical files as needed
Assist with special projects or team needs as assigned
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all work
High school diploma or equivalent required
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Prior clerical or claim support experience preferred
Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Accuracy and timeliness of claim set-up and data entry
Responsiveness to team requests and billing follow-ups
