This position supervises up to six adjusters and approximately 600 active files, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, compliantly, and in accordance with corporate and client-specific standards.

You will also directly manage complex claims, partner closely with client contacts, internal executives, and outside vendors, and serve as a mentor to your team—driving both service quality and team development.

Important:  We are seeking a seasoned Insurance Claims Supervisor with direct, hands-on experience managing and adjusting multi-line claims within an insurance carrier, third-party administrator (TPA), or similar environment.  This is not a human resources or benefits role – it requires deep technical expertise in insurance claims handling and supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily activity of assigned adjusters, ensuring adherence to diary management, desk management, and best practices.
  • Directly investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex commercial auto liability claims.

  • Guide reserve setting, litigation strategy, and settlement negotiation.

  • Oversee vendor engagement, including legal counsel and independent adjusters.

  • Conduct file reviews to maintain compliance with jurisdictional requirements.

  • Train, mentor, and develop adjusters to enhance technical expertise and service delivery.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal claim outcomes.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10+ years of multi-line claims experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.

  • Active adjuster’s license in at least one of the following: ME, NH, VT, CT, RI, NY, NJ, VA (ability to obtain additional licenses as needed).

  • Proven experience handling commercial auto liability claims.

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred:

  • Multiple adjuster licenses across listed jurisdictions.

  • Industry designations such as AIC, CPCU, or ARM.

Performance Metrics

  • Compliance with corporate and client-specific claim handling standards.

  • Audit results and file quality scores.

  • Adjuster team development and retention.

  • Timeliness and accuracy of claim resolutions.

What We Offer

  • Generous Paid Time Off: 4 weeks in your first year + 10 paid holidays.

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, ESOP, and 401(k).

  • Professional Development: Structured training programs and career growth opportunities.

  • Employee Ownership: As an ESOP company, our success is your success.
