Location: Lisle, IL – Hybrid
Work Arrangement: 100% in-office for first 60 days of training; hybrid thereafter with in-office presence on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CST

The Medical Only Advocate is responsible for handling medical-only workers’ compensation claims from beginning to end for a single dedicated client account. This role also provides support to other claims staff and may serve as a training position for advancement into intermediate-level claim roles.
You’ll be accountable for the quality of claim services delivered—ensuring compliance with CCMSI’s Corporate Claim Standards and client-specific handling instructions.
Manage medical-only workers’ compensation claims from start to closure in compliance with Corporate Claim Standards, client-specific instructions, and state law.
Establish and monitor claim reserves within authority levels (or provide recommendations) under supervision.
Review and process related medical and miscellaneous invoices; negotiate disputed bills when needed.
Coordinate and monitor medical treatment in accordance with best practices, maintaining communication with providers.
Accurately document and summarize medical records, correspondence, and claim activities in the system, ensuring up-to-date diaries and communications.
Close claim files when appropriate and assist with re-filing or records retrieval as needed.
Provide technical and administrative support to claim staff and client service teams (with a dedicated focus on the IPRF account).
Participate in ongoing training and knowledge development opportunities to support growth and career advancement.
Associate’s degree or 2+ years of related business experience required.
Prior medical-only workers’ compensation claims experience preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organized, detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to prioritize work effectively.
Team-oriented, adaptable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Audit and supervisor review of files.
Compliance with best practice standards, including timely claim setup, payments, documentation, and follow-up.
Responsiveness to internal teams, external vendors, and client needs.
