Location: Nashville, TN – Hybrid (after training)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CT (37.5 hours/week)
Salary Range: $50,000–$85,000 annually

Job Summary

As a Workers’ Compensation Claim Consultant, you’ll investigate, evaluate, and adjust workers’ compensation claims across multiple national accounts in a variety of industries. After a 3–6 month in-office training period, the role transitions to a hybrid schedule: two days in-office and three days remote each week.

 

Please note: This is a claims adjuster position responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving insurance claims. It is not an HR, risk management, or employer-side role.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Investigate, evaluate, and adjust workers’ compensation claims in TN, NC, SC, GA, VA, and WV.

  • Establish and recommend reserves within authority levels.

  • Authorize and issue claim payments in line with company procedures.

  • Negotiate settlements in compliance with state laws and client handling standards.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for subrogation.

  • Review and document medical, legal, and other claim-related bills for accuracy and necessity.

  • Coordinate and communicate with clients, claimants, and third-party vendors (legal, surveillance, case management, etc.).

  • Prepare reports on claim status, payments, and reserves.

  • Attend mediations, hearings, and client claim reviews as needed (some travel may be required).

  • Maintain compliance with CCMSI best practices and client-specific handling instructions.

Qualifications

 

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • 5+ years of workers’ compensation claim adjusting experience

  • Active Adjuster’s License (VA & GA licenses strongly preferred)

  • Strong investigative, negotiation, and settlement skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred, not required)

  • Prior indemnity experience

  • Strong Excel skills

Compensation & Compliance

The posted wage reflects CCMSI’s good-faith estimate in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. Actual pay will be based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This role may also be eligible for additional compensation or bonuses.
