Location: Scottsdale, AZ (Hybrid after training) – Remote available for the right candidate
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM PST (37.5 hours/week)
Salary Range: $55,000–$75,000 annually

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claim Representative I/II to handle claims in the California jurisdiction. This role requires prior CA adjusting experience, with a strong preference for 5+ years of handling fast-paced California claims. The position is based in Scottsdale, AZ (hybrid after training), though we are open to remote candidates who demonstrate exceptional reliability, self-discipline, and responsiveness.

 

Please note: This is a claims adjuster position responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving insurance claims. It is not an HR, risk management, or employer-side role.

 

Responsibilities

 

What You’ll Do

  • Investigate and adjust California workers’ compensation claims in compliance with CCMSI standards and CA state regulations.

  • Review medical, legal, and related invoices; authorize and process claim payments.

  • Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys under client authorization.

  • Select and manage defense counsel where appropriate.

  • Monitor subrogation opportunities and oversee resolution.

  • Prepare detailed reports, reserves, and compliance documentation.

  • Deliver responsive, high-quality service to clients and injured workers.

 

Qualifications

 

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of workers’ compensation claims adjusting experience (Rep I).

  • 5–10 years of experience handling CA jurisdiction claims preferred (Rep II).

  • California jurisdiction experience required.

  • Must hold or obtain within 60 days:

    • CA Claims Adjuster Certificate (120 hours of approved training + CE), or

    • Self-Insurance Administrator (SIP) Certificate (requires passing CA SIP exam).

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage high-volume, fast-paced workload.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Nice to Have:

  • SIP designation or CA Claims Certificate already in hand.

  • Bilingual (Spanish).

  • Experience working with municipalities, public entities, or complex accounts.
