Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM ET

Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000

About the Role

The Subrogation Representative position is responsible for the subrogation investigation and recovery of assigned Worker’s Compensation and Multi-Line claims.  This position may be used as an advanced training position for consideration of a promotion to a more senior level claim position.  The Subrogation Representative is accountable for the quality of claim services as perceived by CCMSI clients and within our corporate claim standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Identify subrogation potential.
2. Investigate, evaluate and adjust subrogation claims in accordance with established claim handling standards and laws.
3. Must be able to identify legal liability and aggressively pursue at fault parties.
4. Coordinate further investigative needs in conjunction with adjusters’ investigation.
5. Place all parties on notice of lien and provide periodic updates on total payout/lien.
6. Evaluate, negotiate and settle worker’s compensation and multi-line subrogation claims in accordance within Corporate Claim Standards, client specific handling instructions and state laws, when appropriate.
7. Ensure maximum recovery against other responsible 3rd parties based on jurisdictional abilities as well as negotiating efforts.
8. Assist in the recovery of overpayments for duplicate coverage, workers' compensation, and no-fault claims.
9. Researches paid claims, answers inquiries, and coordinates with other departments, insurance adjustors, attorneys, and members.
10. Drafting and forwarding letters to specific State’s Attorneys requesting restitution in criminal proceedings; Upon disposition of criminal cases, if restitution is awarded, claim is documented and diary set for follow up on payments.
11. Monitor statutes of limitations and evaluate, prepare and refer to subrogation counsel for civil filings as appropriate.
12. Assist subrogation counsel as needed.
13. Assist in the selection, referral and supervision of designated multi-line claim files sent to outside vendors. (i.e. legal, surveillance, case management, etc.)
14. Review and maintain personal diary on claim system.
15. Client satisfaction.
16. Prepare reports detailing claim status, payments and reserves, as requested.
17. Effective and timely coordination of communication with clients, claimants and appropriate parties throughout the claim adjustment process.
18. Prepare newsletter articles as requested.
19. Provide notices of qualifying claims to excess/reinsurance carriers.
20. Handle more complex and involved subrogation claims than lower level claim positions with minimum supervision.
21. Conduct claim reviews and/or training sessions for designated clients, as requested.
22. Attend and participate at hearings, mediations, and informal legal conferences, as appropriate.
23. Compliance with Corporate Claim Handling Standards and special client handling instructions as established.
24. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience    

5+ years subrogation experience is required.

Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

Experience negotiating liens highly preferred.

Computer Skills            

Proficient with Microsoft Office programs. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

FL Adjuster’s license required.

The posted salary reflects CCMSI’s good-faith estimate in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications, experience, geographic location, and internal equity. This role may also qualify for bonuses or additional forms of pay.
