Compensation: $90,000 – $105,000 annually
Status: Exempt | Full-Time

We’re seeking a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of Texas workers’ compensation regulations to serve as our Texas State & Compliance Manager.

 

This highly visible role ensures compliance across all CCMSI Texas operations and provides guidance to branch leaders, adjusters, and corporate partners regarding laws, regulations, audits, and DWC interactions.

Job Summary

The Texas State & Compliance Manager is responsible for oversight and continuous monitoring of all compliance activities related to Texas workers’ compensation programs. This includes responding to carrier and regulatory inquiries, conducting internal audits, monitoring compliance logs, and supporting proactive strategies to prevent penalties or enforcement actions. The ideal candidate has strong Texas jurisdiction expertise, extensive WC claim handling experience, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee compliance activities across all Texas branches, providing guidance and support to branch managers and adjusting teams.

  • Coordinate with Corporate Compliance on state audits, DWC inquiries, and special projects.

  • Review and manage E&O allegations, interest payments, and corrective action plans.

  • Prepare branches for carrier and state regulatory audits; conduct pop audits as needed.

  • Research and interpret developments in Texas WC laws, preparing educational and CE materials for adjusting staff.

  • Manage compliance logs, EDI requests, and reporting obligations (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual).

  • Support onboarding and compliance training for new hires, ensuring adherence to minimum system requirements and state standards.

  • Maintain statewide hearing and diary reports to monitor litigation trends and claim management performance.

  • Assist with integration of new client programs and ensure penalty-free transitions.

  • Collaborate closely with branch and corporate leadership to ensure proactive compliance readiness.

Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Texas workers’ compensation claims, preferably in a supervisory, auditing, or compliance leadership role.

  • Active Texas Adjuster License (Type 08) required or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

  • Proven understanding of Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (TDI-DWC) regulations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or related field (experience may substitute).

  • Experience supporting carriers, self-insureds, public entities, and private employers.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills.

The posted salary reflects CCMSI’s good-faith estimate in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications, experience, geographic location, and internal equity.
