Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (MST- Flexibile start time) 

Salary Range: $19.50 - $21.50/ hour (depending on experience)

Job Summary

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Claim Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support to claim personnel and other team members. In this role, you will help ensure the timely and accurate handling of claim-related documentation, correspondence, and data entry while supporting the delivery of exceptional service to our clients. The ideal candidate is proficient with computers and office software, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain assigned claim files, ensuring all required setup activities and documentation are completed accurately and timely.
  • Review, summarize, and document correspondence and medical records in claim notes while ensuring records are properly filed within the appropriate claim file.
  • Coordinate referrals to external vendors on designated claims under the guidance and direction of claims staff.
  • Prepare, copy, scan, and distribute claim-related documents as needed to support claim operations.
  • Respond to healthcare provider inquiries and communications as directed, delivering professional and timely customer service.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding bills, invoices, and related claim documentation.
  • Process and release approved claim payments in accordance with established procedures and authorization guidelines.
  • Provide backup support for front desk reception duties and incoming/outgoing mail processing as needed.
  • Support claims personnel with administrative, clerical, and customer service tasks to ensure efficient department operations.

Qualifications

What You Bring

Required

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage tasks in a fast‑paced office environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Comfort handling high‑volume clerical work with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliability, initiative, and the ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong teamwork and customer service mindset.
  • Reliable, predictable attendance during business hours.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Helpful (Not Required)

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

    — highly valued for communicating with claimants, employers, or vendors, but not required.

  • Experience supporting a high‑volume claims desk.
  • Associate degree or two years of related business/office experience.

Compensation & Compliance

The posted salary reflects CCMSI’s good-faith estimate in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications, experience, geographic location, and internal equity. This role may also qualify for bonuses or additional forms of pay.
